民進黨總統候選人蔡英文積極經營客家選票，除了自詡「客家妹」，也頻繁前往桃、竹、苗地區造勢，並且推出「浪漫台三線」的國家級客家政見。
面對綠營來勢洶洶、企圖翻轉傳統客家庄的政治版圖，在桃園競選的國民黨立委候選人陳學聖21日表示，國民黨總統候選人朱立倫曾經是桃園縣長，在桃園的付出與貢獻有目共睹，他認為「政績牌」能發揮固票的效果。陳學聖說：『(原音)我們可以看得到民進黨企圖心，但是桃園是朱立倫的故鄉，他在這邊做過8年縣長；但是蔡英文在這邊、對桃園沒有做過任何一件事情，所以打政績牌，不必比口水，我覺得朱立倫在這邊應該可以展現出獲得選民支持的優勢。我們會讓民眾會去比較，到底誰對桃園貢獻比較大一點。』
